Welcome to the 2023 season. We expect to have a full field of golfers for our first tournament of the year at the Home Course in Dupont on Wednesday, April 12th. The tournament will open for signups on April 2nd at noon just as in the past. Tee times will start on Hole # 1 at 7:00 am with 10minute intervals.

 

There have been a few changes for the 2023 season such as the handicap calculations for both the scramble and best ball formats along with the addition of a time clock as adopted by the board of directors. We hope you take the time to read and understand the email dated 3/24/23 that explains all the new rule changes in detail.

 

We will again have 3 FLIGHTS based on handicaps and four KPs with prizes of a round of golf provided by The Home Course.

 

The format will be a 2 Person Scramble, with Players playing either from the WHITE TEES or GOLD TEES based on their handicap, age, and gender as per our new rule of “85”, that is explained in the email dated 3/24/23 from the board of directors.

   

The Green fees are $55 riding, the walking rate will be $45. A

$10 trail fee will be charged if you have your own cart. A range token will be included.

 

No more than 2 golf carts per foursome.

  

The restaurant will be open at 11am and the walkup window will open at 7am, there will be a refreshment cart person throughout the day.

Canterwood is a very popular tournament and we expect to fill all available tee times with members, so no guests are allowed for this tournament.

Carts are in short supply so we are splitting the tee times into three blocks.

Block 3 starts at 1:00 PM Carts from the first block should be coming off the course by this time.

The SNACK BAR will be OPEN, but NOT the restaurant.

No Beverage Cart.

 

The rates will $65 with cart and walkers will probably be the same.

Golf Range included.

At this time, NO prizes will be given for KP's, however, we will acknowledge the golfer for his/her accomplishment on the RESULTS.

 

The tees will be WHITE (5,967 yds), and GREEN (5,587 yds)

Here's some detail on the Three rivers Best Ball

 

Registration opens Sunday, April 23rd at 12 noon and closes Monday, May 1st @10:00 am.

Riding is $54 walking is $36.

Tee times begin at 8:00 am and continue at 10 minute intervals.

Format is Best Ball.

Range balls provided. Grass range.

Each KP prize is two rounds with cart.

Refreshment shack between holes #9 and #10.

Don't forget the $10 cash entry ($20 for Guests).

Please repair ball marks on the greens. Don’t forget to punch back of scorecard on the time clock immediately after you play the 18th hole.

Take note of the Pace of Play recommendations at the sign up station and on the course.

 

We are playing the White tees as the Back Tee and the Gold tees and the Forward Tee.

The walking rate will be $48; with cart will be $58; there will be a $10 trail if you bring your own cart; and, range balls will cost $5.00.  We will start at 10 minute intervals and there will be a 1 3/4 hour break between 10:30 & 12:15.  Alderbrook has only 40 carts so as the carts come in they will have to prepare them in for the later pairings.  The restaurant will not be open but sandwiches, drinks, etc, will be available in the pro shop.  There will also be a beverage cart with drinks, snacks & sandwiches.  There will be 4 KP prizes consisting of 1 round with cart each.  The time stamp machine will be in play so please stamp the back of your card as soon as to complete the round.  You can check scores after that.  We're looking forward to seeing you at Alderbrook and hope you bring good weather with you!

Sign-ups for the Gold Mountain – OLYMPIC COURSE - 2 Person SCRAMBLE will open this coming SUNDAY, May 7, at noon.

 

The Olympic Course has hosted two USGA National Championships (2006 Public Links, 2011 Junior Amateur) and numerous college tournaments and invitationals. Just this past month it hosted both the Women's and Men's West Coast Conference Golf Championships.

 

Our tournament will be Wednesday, May 17, 2023. We will be teeing off on the back nine (Hole #10) to start this tournament. Some of you may remember that when the Olympic course opened in 1996, what is today the back nine was actually the original front nine.

 

The field will be open to 164 players  (41 tee times), starting at 7:33 am with 9 minute intervals. You will be able to sign up your playing partner or one guest (using the “GUEST” placeholder option). As always, you can also use the “HOLD” or “NEED” functions to reserve the tee slot next to yours if you need a partner or are working on finding one yourself, respectively..

 

2 golf carts per foursome will be available.

 

The green fees will be $60/w cart, and will include one token for range balls. There will be no discount if you choose to walk the course.

 

There will be a KP for each flight and one KP for the entire field.

 

We will be playing from the White (“Player”) tees and from the Yellow (“Scoring”) tees based on your profile.

 

Pace of Play expectation is 4.5 hours. That is an average of 15 minutes per hole, or four holes per hour. While there will be course marshals to monitor the pace of play and keep the field moving, it is also each golfer’s individual responsibility to play ready golf and keep your group moving along in a timely fashion. As the saying goes, your position should be directly behind the group in front of you, not directly in front of the group behind you!

 

The restaurant will be opening at 11:00 a.m. should you wish to have a beverage or lunch after your round. The snack shack located at the driving range will be open at 8:00.

Pace of play is critical! Here are some universally accepted criteria for playing with an appropriate pace:

 

Keep up with the group in front of you
Your correct position on the course is immediately behind the group in front of you, not immediately in front of the group behind you. 

 

Be efficient on the putting green
Pick your ball as quickly as possible and Mark it. You can usually line up your putt while others are putting, without disturbing them.

Leave your clubs on the side of the putting green closest to the next tee, and leave the green promptly after holing out.

Wait until the next tee to record your score. Sitting in a cart off the green entering scores prevents the group behind you from hitting.

 

Aim to play in 20 seconds
From club selection to pre-shot routine to execution, strive to hit your shot in 20 seconds when it is your turn to play. Help keep play moving at a brisk pace.

 

Cart Protocol: If you and your partner are sharing a cart, go to the player's ball that would be hitting next and drop that payer off with his club(s), while the partner player then takes the cart to his ball. Please do not wait at a single ball as a twosome and then proceed as a twosome to the next ball to be hit.

PENINSULA GOLF COURSE, SEPTEMBER 13TH, 2023.

 

This will be a non-Mid WA tournament.  But it is open to members going to Dungeness on the 14th.

 

The greens will be aerified but will be the first day of play on them.  There will be a reduced rate for our members but at this point in time it all depends on how many we have going to Peninsula.  As of today, August 7th, we have 19 confirmed. 

 

At this time we will be playing INDIVIDUAL scoring.  Gross and Net will be rewarded.  Not sure if KP's will be figured in.  Still trying to get a handle on this event.

 

We are setting up for a first tee time of 12:26 pm.

They have fifty golf carts, which should be enough, but we encourage walkers!

 

For anyone wanting to travel the day before there are several hotels/motels in Sequim with prices ranging from $90 to as much as you want to pay.

The course is donating 4 KP prizes of a round for 2 with cart.

 

The food/snack bar located in the pro shop will be open at 6:45, and there will be a beverage cart circulating during our rounds.
